Treatment Historical monitoring has shown that the water quality within the Jordan Aquifer in Cottage Grove is generally of excellent quality. Nitrate levels remain well below the health risk limit threshold of 10mg/L. 2 Widespread Perflurochemical (PFC) contaminated was detected in groundwater in Washington County in 2005, believed to be originating from several landfills originally Municipal Wells but to date have stayed below the established health risk limits for those compounds. Water treatment is done at all 11 Municipal wells with fluoridation and chlorination. The City of Cottage Grove does not soften the water. 3. Storage and Distribution STORAGE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM The distribution system consists of trunk water mains (primarily 12 inches or larger in diameter), lateral water mains (4 to 8 inches in diameter), service pipes, valve, hydrants, and all appurtenances necessary to convey water from the supply sources and reservoirs to the points of demand. 4. Maps/Plans Appendix 1. A map of the 6 storage facilities is also attached. A draft of local water supply plan is attached. C.
