Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, July 8, 2009

1. Call to Order
At 7:02 PM the meeting was called to order.
2. Approval of Minutes
Laurie made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 2009 meeting. Carol seconded the
motion, All Present in Favor.
3. Strawberry Festival- Clothesline Project Review
The Commission had the Clothesline Project displayed at the Strawberry Festival. The goal of
the project is to raise awareness regarding domestic violence. Those that viewed the display were
very moved by it. It was suggested that the Commission be included in the Business Expo area
next year or find and different day to display the project. It would also be nice to get a sign made
so people know that the Commission is hosting the project.
4. Event

The Commission decided to hold the event the afternoon of September 24 at River Oaks Golf
Course. The Commission would like to do a story in the Bulletin and invite as many community
members as possible to the event.
5. Diversity Highlight of the Month
None
6. City Update
Jen provided the update. Jen has been appointed to the High Speed Rail Commission for Cottage

Grove. The Relay for Life event is July 10. Also on July 10 is a deployment program for the

204 Medical Company at the ice arena.
7. Miscellaneous Items
Anchor Bank of St Paul Park has generously donated $100 to the Commission.

TJ made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:56 PM. Seconded by Sue, All Present in Favor.
