Call to Order At 7:07 PM the meeting was called to order. 2. Approval of Minutes Francisco made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 2007 meeting. TJ seconded the motion, All Present in Favor. 3. Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee- September Synopsis The September meeting was a joint meeting with the City Council. At the upcoming meetings the Committee plans to discuss transportation, parks planning and housing. It will then be wrapped up with a public hearing before the Planning Commission and City Council action. 4. Commission Work Plan 5. Commission Projects The Commission further discussed adding a human rights education element to the Washington County guide that is put out by Washington County. The Committee was unsure if the Yeshiva letter was sent out. The FacingRacenomination formed was completed by Jen and TJ and will be submitted. The Neighbors Connecting Neighbors show was discussed. TJ and Christie will look in to taping a segment. Joe suggested that the December meeting be a planning session for events and initiatives to be conducted in 2008. 6. Diversity Highlight of the Month TJ indicated that Ralph Olson was speaking about homelessness and gave the Commission a phone number if they were interested in attending. Christie indicated that the County is putting together an advisory board to address homelessness. 1 7. City Update Councilmember Luden updated the Commission about projects going on in Cottage Grove. He specifically talked about the Werner Minnesota project, the Presbyterian Homes project and the adjoining Norris Square commercial project and the ice arena project. There will be a community survey that will take place in the next few months. The committee also discussed housing options in Cottage Grove and the spike in home foreclosures. 8. Commission Comments & Requests None 9. Adjourn TJ made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 PM; Seconded by Francisco, All Present in Favor.
