Call to Order At 7:04 PM the meeting was called to order. 2. Approval of Minutes Jen made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 2007 meeting. Sue seconded the motion, All Present in Favor. 3. Goals and Projects for 2008 The Commission discussed what goals and/or projects that they would like to work for next year. The specifically discussed development of a website, partnering with the Stillwater Human Rights Commission on a project, a Speakers Forum, putting a resource guide together related to assistance paying utilities bills and/or mortgage and similar items. 4. Diversity Highlight of the Month St. Cloud State had a few more incidents of inappropriate speech regarding the religion of some students and staff members. The University is investigating and hoping to educate others about the negative affects of this behavior. 5. City Update Councilmember Luden updated the Commission about projects going on in Cottage Grove. There was the yearly truth-in-taxation hearing, a pavement management project public hearing. The CottageView project is on hold until the City and County finalize the transportation study. The community survey will begin after the holidays. Council adopted the Capital Improvement Plan. The Ice Arena project continues to move forward. 1 The Commission discussed at length the recent court decision that affects how non-profits are taxed in regards to property tax. A Commission member was going to find the article and distribute. 8. Commission Comments & Requests None 9.
