September 20, 2000 Regular Meeti�g. CONSENT CA�ENDAR A. Accept and Place on File the Following Minutes: i. Economic Development Authority of September 12, 2000. `"ii. Pubiic Works Commission of September 11, 2000. B. Consider moving the replacement of the finance department printer from 2001 to 200d to alleviate some printing problems with the finance software. Gosts wi�l be covered by money left over from this year's computer purchase. Staff Recommendation: Ruthorize the purchase of an HP 8100 DM Laser pnnter for $3, 298.49 from insight Direct, tnc. C. Consider adopting a resolution accepting donations of cash from citizens in the amount of $375.00 for the purchase of an unbudgeted thermal imager for the Fire Department. Staff Recommendation: Adopt fhe resolution accepting fhe donation of cash. The tofal amount collected fo dafe in donations equals $8,435.00. OCTOBER 18, 200Q AGENDA Cottage Grove City Council 'D. Receive year-to-date status report from River Oaks Goif Course. Sfaff Recommendation: Receive fhe report. This report contains revenue information from golf, and food and beverage operafions af River Oaks. E. Consider approval of the constructio� plans and specifications and setting a bid date of Thursday, November 9, 2000 for the Glengrove Industriai Park 2001 Improvements Project. Staff Recommendation: Adopt the resolution approving the construction plans and specifications and setting a bid date of November 9, 2000 for the Glengrove Industrial park 2001 Improvements Project. This project encompasses the second half of the stormwater fiume, sformwafer ponds and sanitary sewer for the industrial park. �`F. Consider adoption of resolutio� approving final payment in the amount of $6,182.77 to Adolfson & Peterson Construction on the Public Works Building Project. Staff Recommendation: Adopt the resolufron app�oving final payment. The contractor, Adolfson & Peterson, in accordance with the contract plans and specifications, has satisfactorily complefed fhe work. "G. Adopt a resolution authorizing the city to enter into an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs. Staff Recommendation: Authorize the city to submit the grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice and adopt a resolution authorrzing the execution of a grant wrth the U.S. Departmenf of Justice, Office of Justice Programs. 5. RESPONSE TO PREVIOUSLY RAISED OPEN FORUM ISSUES 6. PUBLIC HEARINGS A. Continue public hearing on the Ron Reimann lot split and adopt the assessments as proposed. Staff Recommendation: Adopt assessments as proposed. B. Hold public hearing on vacation of a drainage and utility easement for part of Outlot D Hidden Valley 7th Addition, and consider gra�ting a drainage and utility easement vacation for part of Outlot D Hidden Valley 7th Addition. Staff Recommendation: Hold the public hearing and adopt the resolution granting a drainage and ufility easement vacation for part of OutloP D Hidden Vailey 7th Addition. C. Hold public hearing on vacation of a drainage and utility easement in the southeast quarter of Section 20, Township 27, Range 21, and consider granting the drainage a�d utiiity easement vacation. Consider authorizing tne Mayor and City Administrator to enter into a Letter of Intent with Tradehome Shoe Stares, Inc. Staff Recommendation: Authorize entrance into fhe Letter of Intent. Tradehome is rnterested in construction of a 50,000 square-foot warehouse and office facility in the Cottage Grove Industrial Park. B. Consider authorizing the City Administrator to enter into a purchase agreement for commercial/industrial property. StafiRecommendation. Authorize entrance into the purchase agreement. C. Consider adoption of the Comprehensive Plan — 2020 and placing it into effect. Staff Recommendafion: Adopt the resolution approving the Comprehensive Ptan — 2020 and placing it into effect. D. Consider ambulance service name change request. Staff Recommendation: Authonze changing the ambulance service designation to Cottage Grove EMS. E. ITEM PU�LED. 'F. Consider denial of the simple lot division to subdivide a 4.88-acre parce� into two parceis of 2.44 acres each and a variance from the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area Overlay District lot size standards and for density exceeding 4 units per quarter-quarter (11-15-8B of the city code) for property at 7750 — 113th Street South. Staff Recommendation: Adopt the resotution denying the simple lot divrsion and variance appGcations fo� property at 7750 — 193th Street South, filed by Donald and Patricia Owen, and Raymond and Mary Foss. *`G. Consider contracting to remove sediment from the Hamlet Pond, as well as make pond capacity improvements, to reduce risk of flooding in the future. Consider adopting a resolution in support of the City of Newport in furtherance of the Wakota Bridge/Highway 61 Reconstruction Project, and consider authorizing the Mayor and City Administrator to meet with neighboring cities and request support of the Cottage Grove efforts to assist the City of Newport. Siaff Recommendation: Adopt the resolutron and aufhorize fhe Mayor and Crty Administrator to request support from neighborrng citres to assist the City of Newport. These efforts would lend support to the City of Newport in regard to �ttancral aspects of the project. ���I. Consider authorizing the Mayor and City Administrator to enter into a Letter of Intent with Advance Corporation. Staff Recommendation: Authorize enfrance into the Letter of Intent. Advance Corporation is interested in construction of a 44,000 square-foot manufacturing facilrty in the Cottage Grove lndustrial Park. "°J.
