Subject: Park Joint Meeting Topics
Introduction
The Parks Commission identified several points of discussion that the Council may wish to
explore at the joint workshop meeting on November 17.
Discussion
The Parks Commission has been very active in trying to establish recommendations to the
Council that provide for a consistent, equitable, and fiscally sound park and open space sys-
tem in the community. Some of these recommendations are short term, and others will have
long-term effects on the development of the community. In addition to items related to the East
Ravine Planning process, the major long-term planning items are what the Commission chose
to get feedback on and direction from Council.
The items identified are:
. East Ravine Planning Area
. Community Center
. Large Area Recreation/Athletic Facility
. Athletic Association Relations/Expectations
Time permitting, the Parks Commission would also like some feedback on the use of motor-
ized vehicles/scooters on trailways.
Recommendation
Identify the topic(s) of greatest interest, discuss in the time permitting, and draw a conclusion
from the discussion.
