Schroeder, City Administrator February 13, 2008 Purchase of River Oaks Chemical Sprayer For the 2008 budget River Oaks has recommended purchase of a new chemical sprayer to replace the current 1991 model which has become difficult to maintain in a cost effective, efficient manner. River Oaks suggested a budget of $38,000 plus tax. They have taken price quotes on replacement equipment. Recommended is a Green Image sprayer with boom for $23,900. This particular piece of equipment nas 48 hours of use on it and is available from the dealer due to a loan default. Government pricing on this piece of equipment is $32,917. A bid alternative received from MTI is in the amount of $30,211. According to River Oaks the recommended equipment is equivalent to a sprayer off the shelf and therefore is recommending that purchase. Council Action: By motion authorize the purchase of a sprayer with boom from Green Image LLC at the price of $23,900. Both are equipped with an impact-resistant, polyethylene spray tank.The tank is styled to provide a low center of gravity and excelient visibility from the operator station.The filling point on the tank is conveniently located on the operator's side of the vehicie for easy access.The tank is also equipped with a quick-fill feature, which allows the operator to fill that tank anywhere on the golf course where it can be attached to a clean water source. Both sprayers can be equipped with a standard multi-purpose breakaway boom configured with 20-in. (51 cm) nozzle spacing. Also available is the heavy-duty three-section boom, which gives you the option of a 15- or 21-ft. (4.6 or 6.4 m) spraying width. A standard, manual electric controller is i�stalled in the dash of the ProGator for easy access and visibiiity.
