Levitt, P.E., City Engineer Date: March 26, 2008 Re: Approve Kraus-Anderson Contract for Construction Management Services for Ice Arena Expansion Project Background On January 17, 2007, Council authorized staff to send out RFPs for Construction Management (CM) Services for the Ice Arena Expansion Project. RFPs were distributed and three CMs responded to the request: Bossardt Corp, RJM Construction and Kraus-Anderson. The three companies were interviewed on February 14, 2007 by the Project Team. The Project Team narrowed down their original selection to RJM and Kraus-Anderson due to their extensive ice arena experience. The Team requested that each company submit a revised cost proposal for a 6-month construction schedule versus the 10-month construction schedule as originally proposed. After reviewing the cost proposals, it was the Team's recommendation to recommend award to Kraus-Anderson, with a construction management fee of 1.5% and monthly reimbursables of $6,500. Then on February 21, 2007, Council awarded the contract for Construction Management Services to Kraus-Anderson with a 6-month construction schedule valued at $228,193. Discussion The enclosed contract has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney. To date, no payment has been made to Kraus-Anderson for any work pertaining to the Ice Arena Expansion Project. The Contract shown in Exhibit A is valued at $228,090. Recommendation It is recommended that Council approve the Kraus-Anderson Construction Management Services Contract for the Ice Arena Expansion Project. 6t "f :,t` t 1T Sfrtdara e of grer►s een 3wter sd atraios fara,gr where the Construction Manager is NOT a Cansfructor I AGREEMEN7 madz as of ile 'Cvelf'th da of Dccember in the }ear of T«o Thousand Seven (Li u ords. inlic ite d<n. rmnrh md ear1 BETWEEN the Owner: (Namr uid addre.s.rJ Citv nf Cottaee Grnve 363i 'est Point Douelas Road South Coaase Grove.
