STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Authorize issuance of tne single-occasion gambling permit. During the required background investigation, no facts were found that would constitute a basis for denial of the application. Woolery �i FT � .' f ►� 17 f ►� 1I � �: � GAMBLING LICENSE APPLICATION - TEMPORARY INTRODUCTION All charitable organizations which are exempt from the requirements of the Minnesota Charitable Gambling Control Board and who desire to conduct lawful gambling within the City of Cottage Grove, must obtain a gambling permit. The issuance of lawFul gambling permits is subject to local approval through a resolution adopted by the City Council. BACKGROUND Pursuant to City Ordinance, Lori Ann Olsen, on behalf of The Cottage Grove Royalty Scholarship Program, 7158 Jensen Avenue South, Cottage Grove, MN has submitted an application for a Temporary Single Occasion gamblin�q permit, for the conduct of a button raffle, to be held at Kingston Park (Indian Blvd. and 75 h Street), Cottage Grove, Minnesota 55016, on June 14, 2008. The Department of Public Safety is required to conduct a police investigation of the applicants. DISCUSSION The application as submitted is complete in compliance with our ordinance and is exempt from the licensing requirements of the Minnesota Charitable Gambling Control Board. We have investigated the applicants and have not found any facts which would constitute a basis for denial of this application, under the provisions of the City's Gambling Ordinance. RECOMMENDATION Recommend that the City Council approve the single occasion Gambling Permit application for The Cottage Grove Royalty Scholarship Program. � � / ? .
