Consider authorizing issuance of a single-occasion gambling permit to the South Washington Senior Center to conduct a raffle at 8400 E Pt Dougias Rd S on October 22, 2010. Staff Recommendation: Authorize issuance of the permrt. During the required background investigation, no facts were found that would constrtute a basis for denial of the application. C. Consider adopting a resolution accepting donations in the amount of $4,064.00 on behalf of the Pubiic Safety, Fire and Recreation Departments for the 17th Annual Youth Safety Camp. Staft Recommendation: Adopt Phe resolufron. D. Consider authorizing the sale of a 1998 Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4 (old squad 3117) at auction through Midwest Recreational Clearinghouse/DBA Cranky Ape.com. Consider adopting a resolution accepting a cash donation from Cogentrix into the Economic Development Trust Fund. Staff Recommendation: Adopt the resolution accepting the donation. F. Consider approving a variance to reduce the required 35-foot minimum rear yard setback to 19 feet to bring into conformance an existing three-season porch on the deck at 9014 Jasmine Court South. Staff Recommendation: Adopt fhe resolution approving the rear yard setback variance at 90?7 Jasmine Court South. G. Consider approving a setback variance to ailow a 936 square-foot accessory structure/garage to be located closer to the front property line than the principal structure at 11800 Lockridge Avenue South. Staff Recommendation: Adopt the resolution approving the setback variance at 11800 Lockridge Avenue South. H. Consider awarding the contract for the 2010 Bituminous Trail Construction to Ace Blacktop, Inc. in the amount of $86,575.75. Staff Recommendation: Adopt the resolution awarding the contract � I. Consider awarding the contract for the Kingston & West Central Ravine Trails to Hardrives, Inc. in the amount of $58,230.00. Staff Recommandation: Adopt the resolutron awarding the contract. � J. Consider approving the South Washington Watershed District agreement for the Cottage Grove Rain Garden Coordinated Capital Improvement Program in the value of $80,625.00 pending final approvai by the City Attorney. Staff Recommendation: Approve the agreement pending final approval by the City Attorney. K. Consider awarding the following contracts for the Cottage Grove Ice Arena Team Rooms Addition: Generai Construction to Kraus-Anderson Construction Co. in the amount of $85,992.00, Concrete/Masonry to Crosstown Masonry, Inc. in the amount of $23,500.00, Precast Concrete to Milin Concrete Products Co. in the amount of $13,149.00, Mechanical to General Sheet Metal Company in the amount of $16,740.00, and Electrical to Merit Electric in the amount of $5,860.00. Staff Recommendation: Award the contracts. L. Consider adopting a resolution accepting the grant award in the amount of $4,275.00 from Washington County for Radiological Emergency Preparedness Grant to purchase one Masimo handheld carbon monoxide oximeter which costs approximately $4,275.00. Staff Recommendation; Adopt the resolution. M. Consider approving an agreement with Denmark Township to provide building inspections and code enforcement services. Staff Recommendation: Approve the agreement. N. Receive report on building inventory. Staff Recommendation: Receive report. `O. Consider appointing Steve Messick as Chair of the Planning Commission. Consider authorizing letters to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency regarding Annual Air Monitoring Network Plan 2011 and 3M Barrier Well Pumping at the Woodbury �andfill Site. Staff Recommendation: Authorize the letters. 5. RESPONSE TO PREVIOUSLY RAISED OPEIV FORUM ISSUES A. Receive response to June 2, 2010 Open Form comments regarding housing sizes a�d styles in the Mississippi Dunes subdivision. JUNE 16, 2010 AGENDA Cottage Grove City Council PUBLIC HEARINGS A. Hold the public hearing and consider the following variances: 1. A size variance to allow a 37.2 square-foot dynamic readerboard sign, which is larger than the 24 square- foot maximum. 2. A size variance to aliow a 200 square-foot monument sign versus the required 50 square-foot maximum. 3. A setback variance to allow a monument sign to be set back at 3 feet versus the required 10-foot minimum. Consider directing the Planning Commission to review an amendment to the sign ordinance regarding dynamic sign and monument sign size for highway-oriented businesses. Staff Recommendation: Adopt the resolution approving the variances for signage at River Oaks Golf Course. Direct the Planning Commission to review an amendment to the sign ordinance. BID AWARDS A. Consider awarding the contract for the 2010 Final Street Construction Project to Hardrives, Inc. in the amount of $364,593.50. Staff Recommendation: Adopt the resolution awarding the contract. B. Consider awarding the contract for the 2010 Pavement Management Program, River Acres, District H to Ace Blacktop in the amount of $922,952.75. Staff Recommendation: Adopt the reso(ution awarding the contract. 8. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS A. Allow the representatives for Boondocks Bar & Grili and G-Will Liquors to admit to or deny the allegation that their establishments sold liquor to a minor less than 21 years of age during the Public Safety DepartmenYs compliance check on May 27, 2010. Staff Recommendafion: If the representafive admits to the violation, or fails to appear, impose the scheduled $500. DO �ne for their first violation in a 24-month period. If the representative denies the violation, direct the City Attorney to schedule a contested-case hearing before an administrative law judge. B. Consider authorizing the Public Safety/City Hall Project Team to submit a Request for Proposals to the prequalified list of architects.
