SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS ❑ MEMO /LETTER: ® RESOLUTION: Draft. ❑ ORDINANCE: ❑ ENGINEERING RECOMMENDATION: ❑ LEGAL RECOMMENDATION: ❑ OTHER: ADMINISTRATORS COMMENTS istrator Date COUNCIL ACTION TAKEN M r .. ■� Document2 RESOLUTION NO. 2010 -XXX RESOLUTION APPROVING APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION JUDGE TRAINEES FOR THE NOVEMBER 2, 2010 GENERAL ELECTION WHEREAS, Minnesota Election Law allows individuals 16 -17 years of age to serve as election judge trainees, and WHEREAS, to be an election judge trainee, the individual must be enrolled in a high school or homeschooled in Minnesota, and the individual must submit a signed statement from their parent granting them permission to serve as well as a signed statement from their School Principal stating that the individual is performing at an acceptable academic level; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cottage Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, to approve the appointment of the following individuals to serve as election judge trainees at the November 2 Election, conditioned on attendance at mandatory two -hour election judge training session: • Laura Abrass Jacob Hitchcock • Elizabeth Bunton • Kelsey Horner • Paige Carter • Christopher Isely • Elena Christensen • Megan Lynch • Melissa Crawford • Sarah Schulte Kyle Gross Kate Schwen BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the election judge trainee will be compensated the same hourly rate paid to regular election judges, unless the individual volunteers to serve with no pay.
