RE: 2010 Historic Preservationist of the Year
TITMOTM=4
The City Council is requested to accept the recommendation from the Advisory Committee
on Historic Preservation (ACHP) and present the 22nd Annual Preservationist of the Year
Award to the Pineridge Garden Club for continuing the tradition of community gardening in
Cottage Grove.
The Garden Club has been in existence since 1969 and has faithfully planted and main-
tained gardens throughout the community, the most notable of which are at Cottage Grove
City Hall. Volunteer garden and landscape clubs have been a fabric of different communi-
ties since the early settlement days of Minnesota and the nation. The efforts of this group
in continuing the tradition of community gardening is duly noted by the Cottage Grove
Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation.
Present the 22nd Annual Preservationist of the Year Award to the Pineridge Garden Club,
as recommended by the Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation.
