Sealcoating: 2010 work has been completed. The process went well with good
weather and very few complaints. 430,000 yards of roadway were sealcoated.
Microsurfacing of Trails is just about complete. Crews will be returning to finish
on Thursday August 12 This type of trail repair can be challenging because it
must be cured and dried before use. There have been no complaints, however,
and the work is going well.
• Emerald Ash Borer Treatment: The process is going fine, although not as well
as anticipated. It was planned to complete treatment of approximately 3,300
trees this year, however, it was discovered some trees accept the injection
quickly and others take up to an hour if the weather is dry and it hasn't rained for
a few days. Ultimately, 2,000-2,200 trees were treated this year.
Feedpoint Replacement. Burshten explained that this project will replace the
feedpoints that control our lighting system throughout the city. The first to be
replaced are located on East Point Douglas Road.
Well #7 Work on the well will begin in approximately a month following
completion of electrical work by Xcel Energy.
City Engineer Jennifer Levitt provided progress reports on a variety of City Projects:
