ADMINISTRATORS COMMENTS APPROVED DENIED ❑ ❑ ❑ ❑ ❑ ❑ f� i City Administrator Date COUNCIL ACTION TAKEN: APPROVED ❑ DENIED ❑ OTHER t�.s , (— tDQS— RESOLUTION NO. 2011- RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTABLISHING A BID DATE FOR THE INNSDALE TANK PAINTING WHEREAS, plans and specifications have been prepared in accordance with the City standards and specifications for the Innsdale Tank Painting; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented such plans and specifications to the City Council for approval. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cottage Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, as follows 1. Levitt, P.E., City Engineer Date: December 20, 2010 Re: Innsdale Tank Painting Approve Plans and Specifications Establish Bid Date Background: The City has been routinely painting water towers within the community on a 15 year basis. The next tank that is scheduled to be painted is the Innsdale Tank. The tank was inspected this summer to review the condition of the tank. The report is enclosed in the specifications for review. The recommendation was to paint the interior and exterior of the tank, along with making other structural repairs for compliance with OSHA and for enhanced security of the tank. Discussion: Plans and Specifications Plans and specifications have been prepared in accordance with the City standards and specifications. The engineers estimate for the improvements is $555,300. This compares with the CIP value of $550,000. A February 3, 2011, 10:00 a.m. bid date will provide ample time to provide required notification to contractors. Recommendation: It is recommended the Council adopt the attached resolution approving the plans and specification and establishing a February 3, 2011 bid date for the Innsdale Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation.
