RESOLUTION RELATING TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON RAVINE PARKWAY —
S.A.P. 180- 120 -002 FROM THE NORTHERN TERMINOUS OF RAVINE PARKWAY
TO 85 STREET SOUTH AND 85 STREET SOUTH — S.A.P. 180 - 116 -001 FROM
CSAH 19 TO RAVINE PARKWAY IN THE CITY OF COTTAGE GROVE, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, THIS RESOLUTION was passed on the 19 day of January, 2011
by the City of Cottage Grove in Washington County, Minnesota. The Municipal
Corporation shall hereinafter be called the "City ".
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the "City" has planned improvement of Ravine Parkway, State Aid
Route No. 180 - 120 -002 from the northern terminus of Ravine Parkway to 85 Street
South and 85 Street South, State Aid Route No. 180 -116 -001 from CSAH 19 to Ravine
Parkway, in the City of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the "City" will be expending Municipal State Aid Funds on the
improvements of these streets; and
WHEREAS, these improvements do not provide adequate width for parking on
both sides of the street; and approval of the proposed construction as a Municipal State
Aid Street project must therefore be conditioned upon certain parking restrictions.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cottage
Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota authorizes the "City" shall ban the
parking of motor vehicles on Ravine Parkway from the northern terminus of Ravine
Parkway to 85 Street South and 85 Street South from CSAH 19 to Ravine Parkway.

No Parking Resolution - Ravine Parkway & 85th Street South

It is understood that the proposed extensions of Ravine Parkway from its northern terminus to 85 Street
South and 85` Street South east from Keats Avenue (CSAH 19)to Ravine Parkway are already included
on the City's State Aid roadway system and Municipal State Aid funds will be used on eligible items to
construct the new segments of these roadways.
It is also understood that there will not be adequate provisions for parking as parking lanes will not be
included in the construction of these roadway segments. In order for the City to obtain approval from
Mn /DOT for the construction to be a Municipal State Aid project and utilize Municipal State Aid funds
for construction, parking shall not be allowed along these roadway segments. To satisfy this requirement,
a "No Parking Resolution" must be adopted by the Council banning parking of motor vehicles on Ravine
Parkway from its northern terminus to 85` Street South and 85 Street South from Keats Avenue (CSAH
19) to Ravine Parkway.
A copy of a resolution adopted by the Council banning parking along these roadways will then need to be
submitted to the Mn /DOT Metro State Aid department as part of the initial plan review submittal. Please
forward a copy of the adopted resolution once its available and I'll include it as part of the submittal
package.
