COUNCIL ACTION REQUEST
Consider authorizing issuance of a single- occasion gambling permit to the East Ridge Athletic
Association to conduct bingo on February 12, 2011 at Mississippi Dunes Golf Course, 10351
Grey Cloud Trail South.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize issuance of the single- occasion gambling permit. During the required background
investigation, no facts were found that would constitute a basis for denial of the application.

Subject: GAMBLING LICENSE APPLICATION - TEMPORARY
INTRODUCTION
All charitable organizations which are exempt from the requirements of the Minnesota
Charitable Gambling Control Board and who desire to conduct lawful gambling within
the City of Cottage Grove, must obtain a gambling permit. The issuance of lawful
gambling permits is subject to local approval by the City Council.
BACKGROUND
Pursuant to City Ordinance, Jeffrey Donald Bria, on behalf of East Ridge Athletic
Association, PO Box 369, Cottage Grove, MN 55016, has submitted an application for a
Temporary Single Occasion gambling permit, for the conduct of raffles and bingo to be
held at Mississippi Dunes Golf Course, located at 10351 Grey Cloud Trail South, Cottage
Grove MN, 55016 on Saturday, February 12, 2011. The Department of Public Safety is
required to conduct a police investigation of the applicants.
DISCUSSION
The application as submitted is complete, in compliance with our ordinance and is exempt
from the licensing requirements of the Minnesota Charitable Gambling Control Board. We
have investigated the applicants and have not found any facts that would constitute a
basis for denial of this application, under the provisions of the City's Gambling Ordinance.
RECOMMENDAT
Recommend that the City Council approve the single occasion Gambling Permit
application for East Ridge Athletic Association.
