Subject: DONATION TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FUND
On November 13, 2010 Cottage Grove first responders were summoned to a residence
in Cottage Grove for an unresponsive male not breathing. Cottage Grove Paramedics
and EMT's found the male in cardiac arrest and worked diligently at the scene to
resuscitate the patient who did not survive the event.
The wife of the patient (who does not want to be named) wished to sincerely thank the
first responders who came to her call for help. In particular Paramedic Mande Sedlacek
and Community Service Officer Tim Wessels who remained at the scene for several
hours after the Medical Examiner's vehicle had broken down. Paramedic Mande
Sedlacek and Community Service Officer Tim Wessels assisted in providing support
and comfort as well as assisting in making several calls during a very difficult time for
the family.
A donation of $500.00 was given by the wife of the patient and also a separate donation
of $25.00 was given by the victim's brother. The donations were requested to be used
for safety and medical equipment for the first responders to use and to acknowledge the
efforts of Paramedic Sedlacek and Community Service Officer Wessels.
