Bids were opened for the Project stated above on Thursday, June 30, 2011. Transmitted herewith is a
copy of the Bid Tabulation for your information and file. Copies will also be distributed to each Bidder
once the Project has been awarded.
There were a total of four Bids. The following summarizes the results of the Bids received:
Contractor
Total Base Bid
Low Eureka Construction, Inc.
$941,784.40
#2 Danner, Inc.
$1,077,242.16
#3 Max Steininger, Inc.
$1,100,231.20
#4 Dresel Contracting, Inc.
$1,142,016.55
The low Bidder on the Project was Eureka Construction, Inc. with a Total Base Bid Amount of
$941,784.40. This was approximately 21% under the Engineer's Estimate of $1,200,000. These Bids
have been reviewed and found to be in order.
We have received Mn /DOT concurrence that the project can be awarded to Eureka Construction, Inc., the
apparent low bidder. In the event of a State Government Shutdown, any locally let project with State
Trunk Highway funds must be suspended. Due to the potential for a shutdown, Council may wish to
award the project contingent to the State returning from a potential shutdown and giving notice that
work associated with State Trunk Highway funds is no longer suspended. If the City Council wishes to
award the Project to the low Bidder, then Eureka Construction, Inc. should be awarded the Project on
the Total Base Bid Amount of $941,784.40
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (651) 604 -4917.
Sincerely,
BOONESTRR00
