CITY OF COTTAGE GROVE
MINNESOTA
TO: Mayor and Members of the City Council
Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator
FROM: Bob LaBrosse, Chief Building Official
DATE: July 12, 2011
RE: Electrical Permit Fee Schedule
Electrical inspections in the City of Cottage Grove had been provided by the State of Minnesota,
who utilized Dietrich Electric Inc to conduct the inspections. Due to the state government
shutdown, no electrical inspections could be done. This would have created major delays for
current and future building projects. At the July 6, 2011, City Council meeting, the Council
approved an agreement for electrical inspection services with Dietrich Electric, Inc. to provide
electrical inspections from July 2011 through July 1, 2014. Also approved was an amendment to
the City's fee table adding electrical inspection fees. After the agreement was signed, Bill
Dietrich provided staff with an up -to -date fee schedule, so an ordinance amendment is needed
to reflect these fees.
