IN THE AMOUNT OF $195,758.20 WHEREAS, Plans and specifications were completed according to city standards and, WHEREAS, bids were requested to provide the necessary work; and WHEREAS, 4 firms submitted bids; and WHEREAS, it appears that Eureka Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that the contract be awarded to Eureka Construction, Inc. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cottage Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, that the bid for the Pond C -P6 Improvement Project be awarded to Eureka Construction, Inc. in the amount of $195,758.20 Passed this 21st day of September, 2011. Transmitted herewith is a copy of the Bid Tabulation for your information and file. Copies will also be distributed to each Bidder once the Project has been awarded. There were a total of four Bids. The following summarizes the results of the Bids received: Contractor Total Base Bid Low Eureka Construction, Inc. $195,758.20 #2 Peterson Companies, Inc. $286,355.00 #3 Rachel Contracting, Inc. $319,104.00 #4 Max Steininger, Inc. $324,241.43 The low Bidder on the Project was Eureka Construction, Inc. with a Total- Base Bid Amount of $195,758.20. This compares to the Engineer's Estimate of $271,085. These Bids have been reviewed and found to be in order. If the City Council wishes to award the Project to the low Bidder, then Eureka Construction, Inc. should be awarded the Project on the Total Base Bid Amount of $195,758.20.
