NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cottage Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, as follows: 1. Plans and specifications for the Highlands Park Splash Pad Project have been prepared by the City Engineer. 2. Levitt, P.E., City Engineer Date: September 16, 2011 Re: Highlands Park Splash Pad Approve Plans and Specifications Establish Bid Date lmm,=A In August of 2010 city council directed staff to pursue closure of the outdoor municipal pool in consideration of building a splash pad in a community park. The council further directed staff to commission a Splash Pad Planning Study to fully understand the aquatic recreational needs of the community as well as to master plan for splash pad amenities. Staff hired Bonestroo to study the aquatic facility needs of Cottage Grove; this report was presented to the council on April 20, 2011. Since then much discussion has taken place on aquatic options to serve the community. Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the splash pad. The enclosed rendering shows the three splash pad zones, family, tot and teen. Discussion: Plans and Specifications Plans and specifications have been prepared in accordance with the City standards and specifications. The engineers estimate for the improvement is $415,000. Me . An October 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. bid date will provide ample time to provide required notification to contractors.
