B. Oakwood Park Update
Oakwood Park is still on schedule for construction in late October and /or early November.
Dockter stated that the playground structure will have to be removed and our staff will not
be able to transport it within our park system due to liability issues. The City will attempt to
donate it to an organization within the community.
Also, there are trees being moved by public works from Oakwood Park to other parks such
as Arbor Meadows and Hidden Valley. There are also trees being moved from Mike Rygh's
project to Hidden Valley Park and the Industrial Park at the intersection of the Flume and
Jamaica Avenue.
_OLD BUSINESS
A. Kingston Field Lighting Discussion — Continued
There still has not been any information from CGAA Soccer as to whether they're interested
in making the purchase of those lights. We will wait for further information from the Athletic
Association.
B. Lamar Fields Master Planning - Continued
Burbank submitted draft two of the Lamar Park Master Planning. He made the appropriate
changes to draft #1 as recommended by the Commission in September. It was decided
that more discussion would be needed involving CGAA as far as what their near future
needs are regarding sports facilities. Also, it should also be taken into consideration as to
whether this would be a good area for a community center. Burbank will update the Master
Plan once again for another review at the November meeting.
C. Field Renaming Policy - Continued
Dockter submitted a memo on this issue outlining the second draft of a field
naming /renaming policy for the City of Cottage Grove. The Commission reviewed the
memo along with data from other cities and no recommendations were made at this time.
The Commission will review it once more at the November meeting and make final
recommendations there. At the December meeting, the final draft will be reviewed and sent
to City Council for adoption.
D. Community Center — Direction Recap
Burbank stated that as per the direction from Council at their joint meeting, the Commission
will continue to pursue a needs assessment for a Community Center. So, the Commission
once again reviewed the survey that was sent out this past winter. Burbank also reviewed
the timeline to point out where we are and where we should be. The question came up as
