Subject: Fire Station #4 Emergency Generator Replacement — Quotes
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION:
The present diesel powered emergency generator at Fire Station #4 is no longer functional and
replacement is required.
The Cottage Grove Fire Department has requested submittal of a quote for a 50 Kw generator,
similar to existing size on site now, and that is NFPA -110 compliant, and compatible with the
ASCO 7000 Series transfer switch presently on site at Fire Station #4.
There were a total of 3 quotes submitted for a diesel power generator. The following
summarizes the results of the quotes received:

was estimated for this purchase.

RESOLUTION NO. 2011-
RESOLUTION AWARDING QUOTE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FIRE
STATION #4 EMERGENCY GENERATOR TO INTERSTATE POWER, INC. IN
THE AMOUNT OF $18,325.00
WHEREAS, Quotes were requested to replace the current emergency
generator that is no longer functioning
WHEREAS, three firms submitted quotes; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Interstate Power, Inc. is the lowest responsible
quoter; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that the
contract be awarded to Interstate Power, Inc.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Cottage Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, that the contract for
the replacement of the emergency generator for Fire Station #4 be awarded to
Interstate Power, Inc. in the amount of $18,325.00.
