RE: Planning Commission Packets — Future Electronic Distribution
The City is finalizing the process of initiating a "paperless" agenda packet for all the Advisory
Commission and City Council members. Distribution of the agenda packet materials will be
emailed to Commission and City Council members in advance of scheduled meetings.
Future agenda packet documents will be scanned into a PDF file format and emailed to you.
You will have the opportunity to review the electronic version in the same timeframe as when
you received the paper packet in the past. At meetings, an iPad 2 tablet will be made avail-
able to each Commission member. The agenda, minutes, and packet materials will already
be loaded onto the iPad 2 device. Paperless agenda packets should save the City money in
the long term and be more environmentally friendly.
Before this process is fully implemented, a training session to operate and navigate the
documents on the iPad 2 device will be offered to all advisory commission members.
In preparation for this paperless process, we want to make sure your email address is cor-
rect. Please review the revised Planning Commission roster. If you have a preferred email
address that we should send the packet to, please inform staff of your preference.
At the September 26 meeting, we will discuss when the best time would be to schedule the
iPad 2 training session.
