COUNCIL ACTION REQUEST
Pass a motion adopting a resolution to accept the donation of $500.00 from the Cottage Grove
Crime Prevention Board to the Cottage Grove Police Department to assist in the purchase of
Officer McCormick's MN LEMA Honor Guard uniform.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION OF MONEY TO THE COTTAGE
GROVE POLICE DEPARTMENT FROM THE COTTAGE GROVE CRIME
PREVENTION BOARD
WHEREAS, National Police Week is a time to remember fallen officers, to
remember that they dedicated their lives to the same principles, honor, duty and
courage that brought every officer to decide to wear the badge and during the
week there are several events to remember and honor fallen officers and their
survivor families who dedicated their lives and gave the ultimate sacrifice, and
WHEREAS, Officer Michael McCormick of the Cottage Grove Police
Department has been selected to the MN Law Enforcement Memorial Association
Honor Guard. It is an honor to have Cottage Grove PD as a participating agency
with MN LEMA. The Cottage Grove Crime Prevention Board wishes to donate a
check in the amount of $500.00 to assist with the purchase of Officer Michael
McCormick's LEMA Honor Guard Uniform, and
WHEREAS, the City of Cottage Grove, on behalf of the Police Department,
accepts the donated money and recommends that it be used to assist in the
purchase of Officer McCormick's LEMA Honor Guard uniform.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of
Cottage Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, that said Council
hereby accept, on behalf of the Police Department, the donation in the amount of
$500.00.
