Building Permits
We have been projecting 50 new housing units for 2011. Through October we have
permitted 47 units, 46 of which are single family new construction units seven of which were
issued in October. The per unit permit value is currently averaging $288,133. Total permits
YTD are at $24,088,117 including $8,927,714 in residential remodels and $1,906,265 in
commercial and institutional permits. The Building Division has conducted 6,275 construction
inspections to date, 704 of which have been in Denmark, St. Paul Park, and Newport.
PSCH Update
Enclosed please find a generalized schedule for this construction project. Both the
sewer /water and the footings and foundation permits were issued on November 2. Xcel is
expected to begin line work between now and November 15. On November 2 Council
authorized private placement revenue bond requests for proposals with proposals due on
December 7 and bond sale on December 22.

Cottage Grove Plaza
Commonly referred to as the Target Mall, the owners of this property have been
permitted to conduct storm retention construction within the Center parking areas. This project
is currently underway. There is also a proposal from an end user for the former bank space to
be used as a dining establishment proposed for a spring 2012 opening.
All Commission Meeting
Due to scheduling difficulties the "fall 2011" All Commission meeting is now scheduled
for January 14, 2012 at River Oaks.
