The Parks Recreation and Natural Resources Commission discussed topics they
wanted to discuss with the City Council for a future joint meeting. The Commission
asked about scheduling a community center workshop.

Community center survey of 12 facilities within the metropolitan area was presented to
the Parks Recreation and Natural Resources Commission.

Community Center revenues from other communities was presented to the Parks,
Recreation and Natural Resources Commission.

Grove Athletic Association be solicited. The Commission discussed banquet facilities
and public meeting rooms.

Community center scopinq survey draft was reviewed by the Parks Recreation and
Natural Resource Commission. The Commission suggested the scopinq survey be
distributed to city advisory commissions City Council other civic groups and local
religious institutions.

Objectives, Short Term Goal #3 assisting the City Council in researching and

Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission discussed the City Council's
direction that the Commission continue to pursue a needs assessment for a community
center. Commission members discussed the survey that was sent out in the winter of
2001 and identified sites within the community center where a community center could
be located.

Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission held community center
workshop and developed a planning outline.
December 11, 2002
Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission developed a Planning Process
Outline. Developed six goals. Concerns expressed for replicating facilities and
I serviced, competition with existing businesses, supported an idea that a coffee shop be
with a community center and discussed the idea of leasing space in the community
center for other businesses.

Task Force was being formed for the preparation of a planning document for the future
growth in the East Ravine The Commission expressed an interest that athletic fields
and cmmnlex he considered with the community center.

Advisory Team will be formed to begin work on master planning the area of the
community known as East Ravine The community center topic might be part of that

Citizen Advisory Team for the East Ravine will meet on December 9 2003. The Citizen
Advisory Team has tentatively scheduled their first public open house for January 8
