As part of the park, a playground structure will be constructed. Background Three vendors were asked to submit up to two design proposals for the park. As is common practice, staff generates a standard list of requirements for the vendors to begin the process and then rely on their professionals to design a play structure that will be interactive, exciting and a benefit to the neighborhood and community. All proposals were required to meet the following minimum standards: 1. $38,000 maximum budget 2. Swing set with two regular, one ADA and one toddler swing 3. Concrete maintenance border 4. Wood chip base with 12" compaction 5. Natural or earth colors (typically forest green, burgundy and browns) It is further stated that proposals with new and innovative play systems that may provide different or themed play opportunities not currently available in the neighborhood /community will be given preference. Although not listed in the playground proposals, a park bench and waste receptacle will be placed along the playground area as well. In total, five proposals were submitted from three vendors. Attached to this report you'll find the renderings for each of those proposals.
