The precincts have been renumbered starting in the upper left - hand corner as Precinct No. 1 then right, left, etc. Here is a list of the revised precincts, polling locations, and according to the Census data, total population in each precinct and total population over 18 years. The Census data available to me did not include information on households per precinct. A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING ELECTION PRECINCTS AND POLLING PLACES FOR • MINNESOTA; REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. • 1 WHEREAS, Minnesota Election Laws allow for the changing of precinct boundaries and designate new polling places, and WHEREAS, the City Clerk has determined it is necessary to rearrange current precinct boundaries; now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cottage Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, that Resolution No. 96 -103 adopted on July 10, 1996, is hereby repealed, and that new election precincts and poling places shall be as following: Precinct #1 — Cottage Grove Elementary School, 7447 65t Street South Beginning at the intersection of T.H. 61 and the westerly Cottage Grove corporate border boundary; thence north to the intersection with the Woodbury corporate border; thence east along said border to Hinton Avenue, thence south on Hinton Avenue to 65 Street; thence west along 65 Street to the point of beginning. Resolution No. 2012 -XXX Page No. 4 FURTHER, that the afore - described polling places and election precincts shall be effective on the date of the 2012 State Primary Election, and FURTHER, the City Clerk or the County Auditor shall notify each registered voter of the change in election precinct boundaries and polling place at least 14 days prior to the State Primary Election, and FURTHER, a posted notification of all precinct changes shall be posted in the office of the City Clerk for at least 60 days prior to the effective date of the change. FURTHER, the City Clerk shall prepare maps showing the correct boundaries of each election precinct and shall forward maps to the Secretary of State and County Auditor.
