Pass a motion approving the proclamation declaring June 3, 2012 as Officer Frank Mackall
Day.

Whereas, there are approximately 900,000 law enforcement officers serving in communities
across the :United States, and
Whereas, Savage Police Officer Frank Mackall, who on January 2, 2012, was severely injured
while responding to a prowler call when he hit a patch of ice and lost control of his squad car, slamming
into a tree, and
Whereas the City of Cottage Grove is proud to be the home to Officer Frank Mackall who also
served the Cottage Grove Police Department as a volunteer in the Police Reserves, and
Whereas the City of Cottage Grove is proud to be supportive of all of its citizens who serve in
the law enforcement community and make sacrifices.
NOW, Therefore Be It Resolved that the Mayor and City Council of Cottage Grove, as an
expression of the deep appreciation felt by the Cottage grove City Council and the citizens of Cottage
Grove for all members of the law enforcement community for their service and sacrifice and encourage
all citizens to recognize the sacrifices made by our law enforcement personnel and their families.
FURTHER, LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT, the Mayor and City Council, do hereby
proclaim Sunday, June 3, 2012 as "OFFICER FRANK MACKALL DAY" in the City Of Cottage Grove,
County Of Washington, State of Minnesota.
