HSHR Commission 2012 Action Items.docx
Updated 2012 Plan - based on information from last meetings is attached. Also, here is some
research I did:
1. Complaint services -- In the event someone feels they were a victim of discrimination, they can
submit a complaint that will be followed up on by the commission.
http: / /www.duluthmn.gov /human rights /complaint form.cfm
2. Overall nice site - City of Bloomington
http: / /bloomington.in.gov /bhre
3. Brochures - place them around the community, bulletin boards, library, police station, businesses,
Senior center, city hall. Here's one from the city of Bloomington:
http://bloomington.in.gov/media/media/application/pdf/2395.pd f
4. Speakers for our meetings - ask community members to come to our mtgs and speak. This would
simply be an invite to someone (person, business, etc.), to attend one of our commission meetings
and speak to us, brainstorm on community ideas, etc.
5. Interviews - select a few businesses or organizations to interview and ask questions based on hrhs
issues (use questions from u of m handout - Community Action Plan - below).
6. Community Action Plan - so much material, so little time :)
