RESOLUTION NO. 2012-
RESOLUTION APPROVING MSA ROUTE DESIGNATION REVISIONS
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Cottage Grove that the
streets hereinafter described as revocations should have designations as a Municipal
State Aid Street removed under the provisions of Minnesota law, and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Cottage Grove that the
streets hereinafter described as designated as a Municipal State Aid Street under the
provisions of Minnesota law;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Cottage Grove
that the roads described as follows, to wit:
Revocation, Route 104 — 77th St. (Existing) — Lamar Avenue to Manning Avenue (TH95)
(0.98 Miles)
be, and hereby is revoked as a Municipal State Aid Street of said City, subject to the
approval of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State of Minnesota, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of Cottage Grove that the road
described as follows, to wit:
Designation, Indian Boulevard South - Jamaica Avenue to Keats Avenue (CSAH 19) -
(1.09 Miles)
be, and hereby is established, located, and designated as a Municipal State Aid Street
of said City, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State
of Minnesota, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of
Transportation for consideration, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon approval of the designation of said
roads or portion thereof, that the same be constructed, improved and maintained as a
Municipal State Aid Streets of the City of Cottage Grove.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cottage
Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, approves the MSA route designations
and revocation revisions.

Re: MSA Route Revisions
Background /Discussion
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) through State Aid has been reviewing
cities Municipal State Aid (MSA) system and making revisions to how distribution of funds are
made to developed and undeveloped roadways. In order for the city to utilize MSA funds for
Indian Boulevard from CSAH 19 to Jamaica Avenue in 2013 the following route changes are
required:
The following are proposed routes to be revoked:
• Part of MSA Route 120 Ravine Parkway — Existing 4.61 miles and revised 4.37 miles of
non - existing.
• Revocation of MSA Route 104 0.98 miles
The following proposed route to added to the MSA system:
• MSA Route Indian Boulevard from CSAH 19 to Jamaica Avenue - Addition of 1.09
miles.
Recommendation
It is recommended the Council adopt the attached resolution approving the route changes to
the City's Municipal State Aid system.
