MEETING NOTICE
ADVIS4RY COMMiTTEE ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION
APRIL 25, 1992
A meeting of the ACHP has been cailed for Saturday, April 25, 1992, at
10:00 a.m, in the conference room at City Hail.
The meeting should last about an hour. If you are unable to attend, please
contact Chairperson Gary Golusky at 459-1271 or CHPO Robert Vogel at
598-8224.

The Committee discussed possible events for celebrating the 1 SOth
�nniver�ary of the initial Euro-American settlement of Cott�ge Grove
�. !�43-1 �?9??. The Sesquicentennial Committee has net been appointe�, but
tnPr? wa� a consensus that the A.CHP should form the core of th�s new group
and take a leadersh�p role in planning the 19�a3 abservance
c�ert i t ieiJ Lucal Goverr���rient
CHFO Vogel shared vrith the Committee hi� thought� on the City'� continued
participation in the CLG program. In general, Cott�ge Grove has benefited
rr�m thA grants program; but as competition for the grant money increases,
tne �mpa�t of Fecieral tunding w�ii decease AdCT11f11StC'aC1Ve costs for
stav�ng �n the i�LG program represent approxtmately 15-20� of the CHPO's
annual budget; the "overhead" for administering the grants is also very higf��
��r�iJ tf city receivES little or r�o direct suppart frarr� thE State Histo�
Freservation Office in carryinq out CLG projects. Chairperson Golusky
directed the CHPO to review the City's participation in the CLG propram to
determine whether it is still in Cottage Grove's interest to be a CLG.
�.:�m�r?nens�ve Plan - Histor�c Preservat��n Element.
C.HFO Vogel reported that the HiStoric Preservation Element af the revised
. curr�prehensive lar�d use plan is being printed. This document is essential ly
the revised and updated Chapter 2 of the Comprehensive Cultural Resource
M�naqement Pian.
�e��iew and Compliance
!�ha�rperson Golusky d�rected CHPO Vogel to keep the ACHP informed or
review a►�d compiiance actions taker� by staff, particulariy with regard tu
i�suar�ce of certificates of appropriateness for minor work and review of
�e�velopment prujects.
