The meeting was calted to order by Chaupet�on Golnsky at 7:00 P. M. RollCall The following members w�^e present: Gary Golusky, Keit6 Kleinsasser, Sharon Sawyer, Al Einberger, andRobertVogel. I,� nkc on the Mississi�pi Golf Concse Project CIiPO Vogel informed the Committeethat the Ciry Council had approved the conditional use permit �fa the Links on the Mississippi �olf course without the conditions recommended by staff and the Planning Commission. CHPO Vogel will speak to t6e City Council on this issve and will convey the Committee's displeas�re. �heasivePlan The Committ.ee reviewed and approved the revised draft Historic Preservation Element of the Ciry Comprehensive Plaa. A number of mina typographical ecrocs were aoted. Motionpassed unanimously. Ses�uicentenaialCelebrationPlans The Commiuee discnssed the formation of a Sesquicentenniat Comm.ittee and volunteered to serve as the coce group. MillerRoadi 100th StreetStudX CHPO Vogel provided the Committee wit6 aa npdate on the culwral resources sarvey. No histaic structures a archaeological sites were identified in the projecx area, although the swdy did generate some aseful planning data. The t�echnical repoct will be issued later inthe fall. Grey Cloud Brid�e� CHPO Vogelprovided the Committee with an update on the cnitural resources investigation of the Iron Bridge. Tbe bridge appears to be historically stgnificant aad staff will recommend preservation inplace. TheCommitteediscnssed aLternaLivestoreplacingthe oldbridge and preservationstrategxes faprotectingtheironbridgeaadassociatedunderwaterarchaeologicalfeatures. Thetechnicalrepat for this swdy will be issued in November. CLG Pro�c�m U� CHI'0 Vogel reviewed the pcogram wit6 the Committee. Chairperson Golusky direcxed Vogel to schedule a meeting with the State Histaic Preservation Officer to discuss Cottage Grove's future pxtticipation. The Committ.ee direcxed staff to prepare a CLG graat application fa an intensive survey aad evaluation of histaic farmstead propeRies inthe Ciry, to be completed dnring 1993-1994. 1993 Bud¢et --,— CHPO Vogel presented the Historic Preservation Division's proposed 1993 budget, which is nachanged from 1992. It was noted that the historic preservation program, including the CI�O, is one of t6e Ciry services which the Ciry Admi.nistrator has indicated may need to be cut back or eliminated to make ap fa the ciry's loss of state aids. The Commiuee noted that the lustocic preservation program has a track record of soccess, has brought in mae than seventy thousand dollars infederal graat fuads, aad represents an investment of less than one-tenth of one percent of t6e annual General Fund budget. Adjournment • The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 P. M.
