STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Present Certificates of Appreciation to Gary Kjellberg, Brian Hagen, William Schumal, Paul Poncin,
Tony Jurgens, Frances Ratzlaff and Glen Brown and thank them for their years of service to the
community as members of a City Advisory Commission.

Subject: Commissioner Recognition
There are three Commissioners that deserve special recognition in 2013. They have served the
maximum number of terms on a Commission as allowed by City Code or have been on the Advisory
Committee on Historic Preservation for at least 3 terms. They are:
Glen Brown served on the Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation from September 2000 through
February 2013. He also served on the Planning Commission from March 1992 through January 2000.
Brian Hagen served on the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Commission from May 2004 through
February 2013.
Tony Jurgens served on the Economic Development Authority from June 2007 through December
2012.
Gary Kjellberg served on the Public Works Commission from May 2004 through February 2013.
Paul Poncin served on the Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Commission from April 2005
through February 2013. He has also served on the Economic Development Authority since April 2006.
Frances Ratzlaff served on the Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation from April 2003 through
February 2013.
William Schumal served on the Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Commission from February
2007 through February 2013.
