Budgefied amount is $95,000.04. Parks Maintenance employees use fhis truck appraximately fhree to faur times per week from May 'l to September 30 to dump fhe approximateljr 20Q 55-gallon metai trash cantainers in City parks, trai[s and far specia( events such as fihe Strawberry Fesfival along with soccer and softbaf! tournaments. The City purchased this vehicle (used} in 2006 a��raging 4,Od0�miles firaveled per year delivering 53,220 pounds of trash in 201 'i and 60,220 pounds of trash in 20�2 to Resaurca Recavery Techno(agies in Newport, Minnesota. Curren# mileage on aur truck is 87,000 with an average annua) maintenance cost of $6,582.70 per year. � During the winter of 2013, MacQueen Equipment, St. Pau1, Minnasota (with the Hgil compact side loaders} and Koenig & Sons Equipment, St. Paul, Minnesota (with fhe New Way compact side loaders) were invited to speak v�iith Parks and Public Works persannel regarding their current model compacf side [aaders. Additionally, ParKs Department personnel visifisd with a private garbage hauler in Owatonna, Minnesota to discuss and review their New UVay compacfi side loader. � After evaluation of the two compact side baders with Park Deparfinen# personnel, agreement was reached fihat the New Way compact side loader mounted on #he [suzu cab chassis wou(d � best meet our present and future needs. . New and used compact garbage frucks were researched with regard to price and availability. No current model low mileage or demo trucks were found at this time.
