Councilman Lehrke recommends the appointment of Mark Nelson as Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission. Mark has honorably served on the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission since March of 2011. During this time Mark has proven to be a strong advocate for Parks and Recreation in Cottage Grove and shown a willingness to serve towards the betterment of the community. He has provided valuable feedback and direction on all subject matters and is thoughtful in his deliberation. Mark has also shown the ability to lead by serving as Vice Chair this past year. As such, he has operated meetings in the absence of the Chair and will likely transition to the Chair position with relative ease. Further, Mark has taken an active role in developing the Commission's Work Plan, the Parks and Recreation Referendum project, the pool building redesign project and also regularly attends All Commission Meetings to be a more informed Commissioner. Recommendation Appoint Mark Nelson as Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission.
