HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-04-20 MINUTES (SPECIAL MEETING) COTTAGE GROVE CITY COUNCIL & ALL COMMISSION MEETING City of Cottage Grove, Minnesota April 20, 2013 CALL TO ORDER The City Council of the City of Cottage Grove, Washington County, Minnesota, held a joint meeting with the City’s Advisory Commissions on April 20, 2013, at the Cottage Grove City Hall, 12800 Ravine Parkway. Mayor Bailey called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. ROLL CALL The following were present: Mayor Myron Bailey, Council Member Derrick Lehrke, Council Member Justin Olsen, Council Member Jen Peterson, and Council Member Dave Thiede. The following were absent: None. Commission members present: Lise’ Rediske, Chad Rediske, A.J. Janssen, Randall Wehrle, Mark Nelson, Christie Thompson, Gary Kjellberg, Herb Japs, Chong Ku, Leon Peterson, Beverly Gross, Kellie Eigenheer, Ken Brittain, Tony Jurgens, Michael Smith, Jim Rostad, Kent Griffith, Fedelis Fondungallah, Mike Zurbey, Suzanne Koerner, and Karla Bigham. Also present were: Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator; Robin Roland, Finance Director; Les Burshten, Public Works Director; Zac Dockter, Parks & Recreation Director; Danette Parr, Economic Development Director; Sharon Madsen, Communications Coordinator; John McCool, Senior Planner; and John Burbank, Senior Planner, Peter Koerner, Deputy Public Safety Director-Police Captain; and Rick Redenius, Deputy Public Safety Director- Fire Chief. Mayor Bailey presided over the meeting. Presentations were provided by Danette Parr on Economic Development; Ryan Schroeder on Capital Planning, John McCool on Chicken and Fowl in urban neighborhoods, Robin Roland on the 2014 Budget, and Jeremy Kalin or Eutectics Consulting on the PACE program. Questions were asked from the floor throughout the individual presentations. A survey was distributed requesting specific feedback regarding the proposal for urban chickens.
