Park Ranger Program
As a voluntzer Park Ranger you'll act as an
�tra ret of eyes and eaxs for our Padcs and
Recreation Department by answenng ques-
tions from park usus, collecting data, kee�
ing the paxks beautiful by picking up trash
and offenng suggestions fox impxovementr
or �pair. The time required is a fl�ible
two to foun houn a week induding some
evenings and weekEnds.

Cottage Grove Parks are filled with beauti-
ful na[una.l settings and a multitude of �c�-
ational opportunities. You're inmted [o help
us preseroe and grow the parks and recrea-
tion seroices by participating in the Parks
Legacy Gimng progcam.

Informational Picnic
Join Cottage Grove Public Safety at a Night
to Unite informational picnic on Thursday,
May 16, 6-8 p.m. at Kingston Park. Enjoy
pizza, beverages and cookies (while sup-
plies last) and learn how to host your own
neighborhood gathering. You can also

Severe Weather Awareness Week
Severe Weather Awareness Week is April
15-19, with a statewide tornado drill
Thursday, April 18 at 1:45 and 6:45 p.m.
During severe weather sirens are sounded
when a tornado warning is issued, sustained
winds of 76 mph or higher are reported, or
a fi�e fighter or police officer requests an
activation.

Help us plant trees at Pine Tzee Valley
Pazk, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sahuday,
Apzil 27. Gzab youi shovels and gaz-
dening gloves and meet at the puk
building foz instructions. Rain oz
shine, tqgethez we'll plant trees, deu
bmsh, zemove buckthom and watez
and mulch new trees.
There will be a colonng contzst, bird
houses to build, and a free Pine seed-
ling for kids (one per child).
No zegistration needed—show up any-
tune between 9 and 11 a.m.
You can also zemove buckthom from
your own property that weekend, place
it at the end of youi dziveway and have
it picked up on Monday, Apnl 29 at no

schedule the buckthom pick up.
