Levitt, P.E., City Engineer Date: July 12, 2013 Re: Quote Award — Sanitary and Storm Sewer Cleaning and Televising Backqround/Discussion The City conducts sanitary and storm sewer cleaning annual to ensure that the lines are clean and clear of debris and deficiencies to maintain the proper flows through the pipes. The City requested quotes from two vendors for the annual cleaning and televising. Two quotes were received on July 10, 2013. The quote tabulation summarizes the results of the quotes received. The low quote for the project was submitted by HydroVac, Inc in the amount of $20,248.40. This compares to the Engineer's Estimate of $25,000. These quotes have been reviewed and found to be in order. Recommendation It is recommended the Council award the 2013 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Cleaning and Televising Project to Hydro-Vac, Inc. for the total quote of $20,248.40. RESOLUTION NO. 2013-XXX RESOLUTION AWARDING THE 2013 SANITARY AND STORM SEWER CLEANING AND TELEVISING PROJECT TO HYDRO-VAC, INC. WHEREAS, quotes were requested to provide the necessary work for the 2013 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Cleaning and Televising Project; and WHEREAS, two firms submitted quotes; and r� WHEREAS, it appears that Hydro-Vac, Inc. provided the lowest accepted quote; WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that the quote be awarded to Hydro-Vac, Inc. in the amount of $20,248.40. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cottage Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, that the 2013 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Cleaning and Televising Project be awarded to Hydro-Vac, Inc. for the total quote of $20,248.40.
