COUNCIL ACTION REQUEST
Consider authorizing issuance of a single occasion gambling permit to Nuevas Fronteras
Spanish Immersion Parent Teacher Student Organization to conduct bingo at 7830 80 Street
South on February 21, 2014.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Authorize issuance of the gambling permit. During the required background investigation, no
facts were found that would constitute a basis for denial of the application.

GAMBLING LICENSE APPLICATION - TEMPORARY

All charitable organizations which are e�cempt from the requirements of the Minnesota
Charitable Gambling Control Board and who desire to conduct lawful gambling within
the City of Cottage Grove, must obtain a gambling permit. The issuance of lawful
gambling permits is subject to local approval by the City Council.
BACKGROUND
Pursuant to City Ordinance, Paula Arnold, on behalf of Nuevas Fronteras Spanish
Immersion Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO), 7830 80 Street South, Cottage
Grove, MN 55016, has submitted an application for a Temporary Single Occasion
gambling permit, for the conduct of bingo to be held at Nuevas Fronteras Spanish
Immersion School, 7830 80 Street South, Cottage Grove, MN 55016 on Friday, February
21, 2014. The Department of Public Safety is required to conduct a police investigation of
the applicants.
DISCUSSION
The application as submitted is complete, in compliance with our ordinance and is exempt
from the licensing requirements of the Minnesota Charitable Gambling Contr.ol Board. We
have investigated the applicants and have not found any facts that would constitute a
basis for denial of this application, under the provisions of the City's Gambling Ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION
Recommend that the City Council approve the single occasion Gambling Permit
application for Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion Parent Teacher Student
Organization (PTSO).
