WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has certified that work has been satisfactorily completed; and WHEREAS, the original total contract amount was $94,900. There were no change orders for this project. The actual contract amount completed was $94,900;and WHEREAS, the project has been satisfactorily completed in accordance with the contract plans and specifications. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City. of Cottage Grove, Gounty of Washington, State of Minnesota, that $8,000 is to be paid to Valley Rich Company for the final payment of the Low Zone Booster Station Project. The Contractor for this project is Valley-Rich Company. Also enclosed are the lien waivers, consent of surety to final payment, and IC 134 Contractor Affidavit for the Minnesota Department of Revenue. PROJECT REVIEW This project began in the fall of 2013 when the vault and watermain were installed. The work was suspended over the winter due to fhe cold and snow and resumed in the spring of 2014. In July Xcel Energy installed the transformer and then the electrical and site work were completed. After the booster station passed the bacteria tests it was put into service to transfer water from the low pressure zone to the intermediate pressure zone. CONSTRUCTION COST OVERVIEW The original contract amount for this project was $94,900. The first pay request was for $86,900 and this final pay request is for fhe remaining $8,000. RECOMMENDATION The Contractor, Valley-Rich Company, has satisfactorily completed the Work done to date in accordance with the contract plans and specifications. Therefore, it is recommended that the final payment of $8,000 be made to the Contractor by the City of Cottage Grove.
