HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-10-28 PACKET 05.C. TO: Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation FROM: John M. Burbank, Senior Planner DATE: October 24, 2014 RE: Military Road Historic Trailway Corridor Introduction Development continues to occur in the Upper Ravine Neighborhood District of the city, which is guided by the East Ravine Master Plan and the City’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan. One common complaint of those plans is the conversion of Military Road from a roadway to a trailway corridor. The actual conversion process will occur as adjacent properties develop. The attached map identifies existing and planned subdivisions, parks, roadways, and trails within the district. At the last ACHP meeting the topic of the trailway design was raised. The attached text document is from the State Legislative Archives and provides an interesting narrative on the history of the establishment of the roadway. Review the document and note information of interest that could be compiled into interpretive signage that will be installed along the corridor The attached details are from the East Ravine planning process and identify a potential trailway segment design. Requested Action Review the material and discuss.
