South, Cottage Grove, Minnesota, on the 9th day of September, 2014. Chair Herb Japs called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Nerb Japs, Jan Japs, Beverly Gross, Judy Spooner Melinda Miller, Verlyn Lindemann, Jon Raverty MEMBERS ABSENT: Leon Peterson OTHERS PRESENT.� Mayor Myron Bailey; Councilmember Dave Thiede; John M. Burbank, Senior Planner; Ken Brittain, Planning Commissioner; Cindy Bailey, Citizen; Bud Gross, Citizen; Paula Bushilla, Citizen; Michael Bushilla, Citizen APROVAL OF THE AGENDA Jan Japs made a motion to approve the agenda as distributed. Miller seconded. The agenda was unanimously approved. OPEN FORUM No one spoke. ACTION ITEMS None PROJECT UPDATES Community Cookbook Project Burbank reported on the Community Cookbook sales, and the group held a general discussion on the topic. Several sales strategies were identified during the discussion. The ACHP re- quested that two books be donated to the Park Grove Library. Burbank responded that he would follow up on the request. The ACHP noted that in the interest of time and the scheduled tour, they would hold additional discussion on the project at a future meeting. No additional action was taken. Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation Minutes September 9, 2014 Page 2 of 2 Peaceful Grove Burbank reported that he had been contacted by a representative of the Peaceful Grove Church about the demolition of the old Woodward Homestead buildings on the property. Burbank further reported that the property was not on the Local Register of Historic Sites and Landmarks, but that it was eligible. The ACHP requested that Burbank explore options with the Church, and at the minimum, photo document the structures prior to any demolition. The ACHP held a general discussion on the site and previous owners. It was suggested that Mrs. Woodward be contacted as she lived on the property after World War II. No additional action was taken. Committee Awareness Program Burbank shared information that latest SWCTC video production for the Committee Awareness Program was recently released. He noted that it was produced by Ann Simpson and is titled the "The Thompson Grove Country Club." He stated that due to the lack of projection equipment at the farm, it would be shown at the next ACHP meeting. The topic was discussed and no addi- tional action was taken by the ACHP. APROVAL OF MINUTES Jan Japs made a motion to approve the minutes from July 8, 2013, meeting. Gross seconded. The minutes were unanimously approved as presented. HISTORIC INQUIRIES AND RESEARCH INFORMATION None COUNCIL LIASON COMMENTS None COMMITTEE COMMENTS Gross asked if the Military Road Trailway Plan could be put on a future agenda. Burbank re- sponded that he would do that. No additional action was taken by the ACHP. STAFF COMMENTS Burbank noted that the November meeting falls on Veterans Day and no meetings can be held by the City that day. He asked if a special meeting date could be set. The ACHP agreed to hold the meeting on October 28. No additional action was taken by the ACHP. ADJOURNMENT L.indemann made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Miller seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m. After adjournment, the ACHP was given a tour of Hope Glen Farm by Michael and Paula Buschilla.
