Date: December 12, 2014 Subject: 2015 and 2016 Paid-on-Call Firefighter Pay Plan As part of the 2015 and 2016 budget process the Fire Department submitted a budget addition recommending changes to the Paid-on-Cafl Firefighter pay plan. They are recommending a 2% COLA in both 2015 and 2016. The City Council adopted the 2015 budget at its last meeting with these increases included. Staff believes that both the internal and external markets support these increases. The 2014 external market average about $12.78 per hour. We are currently at $13.00 per hour. Our wage goal is to be close to average of the external - - market. These increases will achieve that goal as there will also be upward wage adjustments - - for external comparisons. The estimated costs of these increases are: , $10,100 in 2015 $10,300 in 2016 Action Staff is recommending Council adopt the attached Resolution updating the Paid-on-Call Firefighter Pay Plan for 2015 and 2016. , RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 2015 AND 2016 PAY PLAN FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT PAID-ON-CALL EMPLOYEES FOR THE CITY OF COTTAGE GROVE ARTICLE I. ARTICLE II. EFFECTIVE DATE This resolution shall become effective January 16, 2015 and shall remain in effect until amended by the City Council. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cottage Grove, County of Washington, State of Minnesota, that the above listed plan be adopted. Passed this 17th day of December 2014.
