Wolfe, Assistant City Administrator .J\ Date: 08/09/99 Re: Appointment of Shannon Green to the Economic Development Authority The Economic Development Authority (EDA) currently has a vacancy, created by the resignation of Donna Boehm. At the July meeting, the EDA recommended that City Council consider appointing Shannon Green to the vacant position. Attached is a biography faxed to me by Ms. Green. As you can see, she has a • background in manufacturing and retail human resources. Staff is finding that labor availability is a priority issue in the recruitment of new industry to Cottage Grove. With the current labor market, Ms. Green's background and expertise will be valuable to the EDA. Green joined Renewal by Andersen in July 1998. • Iler background includes positions in manufacturing and retailing industries. Most recently, Green led the human resources function for Onan.Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cummins Engine Company. Previously, Green was the principal of an organizational effectiveness consulting company. Earlier in her career, she held positions in sales management and merchandising for the Department Store Division of Dayton Hudson Corporation. Green holds a bachelor's degree in English and Speech Communication and a master's degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota. oft July 1999 •
