RE: 7310 Lamar Barn Addition Phase II
Background/Proposal
In order to be able to increase the occupancy load of the historic barn at 7310 Lamar Avenue South,
the building and fire codes require the structure to be sprinkled. Due to the property being on private
well and septic, a 20,000 gallon water storage tank is required as a component of a sprinkler system
being designed for the site. Wayne and Angi Butt are proposing to construct another addition on to
the southwest corner of the barn that mirrors the addition approved in 2014.

The Butts are requesting that the ACHP recommend that the City Council issue a certificate of
appropriateness for the Phase II addition of a wing to house the required sprinkler water storage
tank to the existing 1947 era historic arched roof dairy barn on the property.
The Butts will be in attendance at the meeting with additional information and to answer any
questions.
Recommendation
Review the information and consider recommending that the City Council issue a certificate of
appropriateness for the Phase II addition of a wing to house the required sprinkler water storage
tank to the existing 1947 era historic arched roof dairy barn on the property at 7310 Lamar Avenue
South.
