Burbank, Senior Planner DATE: May 13, 2015 RE: Appointment to Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation Proposal/Background There is a vacancy on the Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation (ACHP). Council- member Dave Thiede and Senior Planner John Burbank reviewed the commission appointment application received from Herb Reckinger. Mr. Reckinger was awarded the 2015 Historic Preservationist of the Year. He has contin- ually shared his research and knowledge of local history with the community. Examples of physical history shared include Military Road and the Grey Cloud Island Lime Kiln. His latest project of note was bringing the faces and names together of Minnesotans who served in the Vietnam War. Recommendation Council Liaison Dave Thiede recommends the appointment of Herb Reckinger to fulfill a vacant term on the Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation ending February 29, 2016.
