TO: Economic Development Authority FROM: Jennifer Levitt, Community Development Director/City Engineer DATE: January 26, 2015 RE: Election of Officers This agenda item is for the purpose of the EDA members to appoint officers. According to the EDA Bylaws: “The Authority shall elect the President, vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary annually and they shall hold office for a term of one year or until their successors are elected and qualified. The Secretary and Assistant Treasurers need not be members of the Board”. The EDA President must be a Councilmember and has historically been held by the sitting Mayor. However, nominations should be made and votes taken to officially appoint the position, along with the Vice President and Treasurer. For ease of EDA members, the Secretary and the Assistant Treasure positions have been held by staff members. Required EDA Action: Elect EDA Officers for the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Vice Treasurer and Secretary.
