The teams were able to construct the playing field they would face in competition in the old police garage area of the BEC. This was valuable space to the teams, as it enabled them to keep the playing field set up and gave them countless hours of practice time. The practice time really paid off for the teams. They all competed in the Minnesota North Star Regional Competition and had many successes. This year, East Ridge took first place and is moving on to the national competition being held in St. Louis on April 27 to 30. The Math and Science Academy robotics team also made it to nationals. The teams would like the opportunity to present their robots and express their appreciation to the City of Cottage Grove for the support of the program. The teams provided advertisement for the City on their t-shirts, as part of the sponsorship for the space at the BEC. The South Washington County Bulletin published a Viewpoint article regarding the high school robotics program in their April 27, 2016, edition, which can be accessed through the following link: http://www.swcbulletin.com/opinion/columns/4019223-viewpoint-robotics-proqram- exam ple-d istrict-833s-m ission-action.
